Photo of laser therapy device “Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) or Low Intensity Laser Therapy (LILT) also known as “Cold” or “Soft” lasers are lasers that stimulate certain actions in our body tissues. They do not cause tissue destruction like more powerful lasers used for cosmetic or surgical purposes.

The actions that are stimulated are responses to the absorption of the photons of light energy into our cells. This results in a variety of biochemical chain reactions that can reduce pain, reduce inflammation, stimulate healing, & even stimulate immune response. These are therefore healing or curative responses, not just temporary reduction of symptoms.

There have been over 4000 scientific studies done on low intensity laser therapy over 20 or more years which have proven these positive effects & have failed to indicate any adverse effects!

Consequently, Low Intensity Laser Therapy represents an exciting new frontier in therapy & medicine in general, that is comfortable and free of negative side effects.

Photo of laser therapy deviceSignature Spinal Care & Laser Therapy offers 2 types of low intensity laser therapy treatments. Both are infrared diode lasers & both employ dispersive red & infrared light sources from non-laser diodes to enhance the effectiveness of the laser.

Our MultiRadiance Super Pulsed laser stimulates the cellular reactions by generating high intensity pulses of laser energy for very brief periods of time. We have found it to be very good for acute injuries & conditions, trigger point therapy, & as an adjunct to other forms of treatment.

Our Bioflex laser systems stimulate the cellular response by producing less intense light energy over a longer period of time and have proven to be very effective at reducing more chronic conditions.

For both types of laser, treatments are usually done 2 or 3 times per week for 2 to 3 weeks for acute problems & for 3 – 6 weeks for more chronic conditions.
